Ali Morrisane can be found in the north-eastern part of Al Kharid's market, not far from the cactus patch. The self-proclaimed greatest salesman in Gielinor, he is a greedy, cunning, and (in)famous Pollnivnian merchant who is always on the lookout for new business opportunities and will often sell useless junk to players without their consent. He is the owner and namesake of Ali Morrisane Commercial Enterprises Ltd., a company engaging in a variety of activities, and the brain behind the magic carpet fleet operating in the desert.

He was born in Pollnivneach and claims he is prejudiced by the merchants and suppliers of Al Kharid because of this. He has one known family member; his son, Farid Morrisane, who can be found trading at the Grand Exchange, although he fabricates having a nephew named Baba during The Feud quest. He wrote a very basic guide on how to kill things, which can be read at the Combat Scroll in the Varrock dummy training area by the east bank. Despite owning a small stall, he seems to be very rich, employing many people and devising large schemes and scams that make him richer. He is also implied to own the mansion that the player is hired to clear rats out of during the Ratcatchers quest.

Despite appearing harmless, Ali is a brilliant businessman who crosses all limits when trying to achieve his goal. After having an adventurer settle a gang feud between bandits and Menaphites that follow Amascut in his home town, he "invites" a number of his acquaintances to Al Kharid to set up business. In reality, this farmer, tailor, smith and guard (Ali, Ali, Ali, and Ali respectively)'s jobs are to threaten all of the town's shopkeepers to join Ali's chain of business or have theirs taken down. There are also rumours that he has men in Pollnivneach also threatening people, and that they intend to steal from the Emir himself.^[1] When asked about it, Ali denies involvement and promises to have a talk with the Alis, explaining their behaviour by claiming they are simply enthusiastic from the move.

Additionally, he has hired people to steal artefacts from the Uzer Mastaba, as indicated by the skeletons and crate inside the mastaba; the crate is labelled to be shipped to Ali Morrisane Commercial Enterprises, according to its examine text.

Ali owns a shop of general stock that functions like an ordinary general store, though players can only sell back the items he carries, unlike general stores. Players can buy desert robes here.

After the completion of the Rogue Trader miniquest, he expands his shop to sell:

• Runes, supplied by Aubury in Varrock.
• Unique clothing, including Menaphite robes and Desert outfits, supplied by Siamun in Sophanem.
• Blackjacks, both offensive and defensive, supplied by the Blackjack seller in Pollnivneach.

Note: Each time the player talks to Ali Morrisane, he will try to sell the player something. If the player has at least 101 coins in their inventory, he will forcibly sell them either a raw chicken, tinderbox, bronze pickaxe, bucket or knife for 10 coins, giving the message Despite your best efforts Ali Morrisane, the greatest salesman in the world, still manages to sell you some junk. However, some of these items can be sold on the Grand Exchange for a small profit.

Once The Feud quest has been completed, Ali Morrisane will need the player's help once again. He wants to expand his business, and will require the perseverance of the player to deal with various suppliers all over Gielinor. One part of this miniquest includes a sudoku-style puzzle, which increases the types of runes that can be purchased.

• The unobtainable Documents item found in the game's cache suggest The Fremennik Isles quest had a cut sub-plot where the player would have facilitated trade between Jatizso and Ali Morrisane.
• Ali will attempt to convince the player to help him get business contacts by reminding the player they would get discounted magic carpet rides, even if the player has already completed the hard Desert Diary, which would make all carpet rides free.
• In the second Postbag from the Hedge, the Crandorian lesser demons state that they bought a package holiday from Ali, who claimed they would easily be able to get a ticket back home. They conclude that he lied.^[2]
• The Embalmer used to mention that they bought a cream from Ali Morrisane to try and treat their spots, but the only effect it had was repelling insects.^[3] This dialogue was removed with the release of Beneath Cursed Sands.
• During Eagles' Peak, Asyff, the fancy dress shop owner, mentions having a supplier of giant eagle feathers. He says his supplier was a "chap in desert clothing" named Ali, and that the feathers he sold him were "suspiciously similar to chicken feathers". This supplier was most likely Ali Morrisane.
• During Meat and Greet, the Spice Merchant ordered spices from Ali Morrisane, who he believed was a reputable supplier.
• Gnome Air is extremely skeptical of Ali Morrisane's air travel endeavours and indeed has filed litigations against him to the Supreme Rune Court.
• Ali Morrisane is named after the British supermarket chain Morrisons.^[4]
• Viewing his rune, clothing, or blackjack shops will change the appearance of his market stall.
