Lizardmen are reptilian humanoids that inhabit the Kebos Lowlands and within the Lizardman Canyon. Secretly created from a native species of lizard during the 37th decade (1,040 years ago) under the rule of King Shayzien VII, he had intended the lizardmen to become his personal army to enforce his tyrannical rule of Great Kourend. After he returned from the dead as Xeric, the lizardmen continued to serve him loyally, seeing him as their god. Today, long after his exile, they still remain loyal, constantly attempting to invade Great Kourend.

Lizardmen can be unlocked as a Slayer task at a cost of 75 Slayer reward points. Once unlocked, they can be assigned by medium and high-level Slayer masters. The slightly stronger lizardman brute and even stronger lizardman shaman also count towards the task. Killing any variant of lizardmen while on a normal Lizard task will NOT progress the task.

Killing a lizardman is a task in the medium Kourend & Kebos Diary.

Killing lizardmen

Within the Lizardman Canyon, the Lizardmen will automatically attack the nearby soldiers. Because the west side of the eastern canyon is a multi-combat area, players can take advantage of this by attacking only the Lizardmen who are focused on soldiers, minimising damage and the frequency at which they will need to consume doses of anti-poison potions.

24 March 2016 (Update \| poll)	It is now possible to unlock the possibility of receiving a lizardmen Slayer task from Duradel, Nieve and Chaeldar. Unlocking this task costs 75 Slayer points. Shayzien soldiers on the battlefield will now track how many lizardmen you kill.
