The elder maul (or) is a cosmetic variant of the elder maul with an elder maul ornament kit added to it. It can be dismantled at any time, returning both parts back to the player. It is a two-handed crush weapon that requires Attack and Strength levels of 75 to wield.
Along with the non-cosmetic variant, it is the highest tier crush weapon available. It overtakes the godswords as the weapon with the highest strength bonus. Despite the strength bonus, the abyssal bludgeon often has higher overall damage output against low-defence monsters because of its quicker attack speed, making it only useful in places such as Tekton. Because of its high strength bonus, it is often used as a finisher in player killing. The colour of the ornament kit matches that of the Bandos armour set.

Special attack
The elder maul has a special attack, Pulverize, costing 50% special attack energy. Increasing the player's accuracy by 25%, a successful hit will reduce the target's current Defence level by 35%, effectively acting as a superior version of the dragon warhammer's special attack. Even then, due to the maul's stats, it is slightly more accurate than a dragon warhammer with an avernic defender, beating the pair by +12 crush bonus and +54 strength bonus.
Depending on the player's weapons, the maul can be an upgrade or downgrade in terms of inventory spots. For example, if a player is using another two-handed weapon alongside the maul, their inventory space will not be affected. However, if the player is using a one-handed weapon and a shield/defender with a full inventory, one item must be dropped in order to equip the maul.
When used against Tekton, the first special attack from an elder maul is guaranteed to hit, however, if subsequent attacks were to fail to hit, it will instead reduce 5% of his Defence level.
Defence level reductions will stack over multiple successful hits; each reduction is calculated from the current temporary level (so follow-up drains reduce fewer levels). The Defence level of the target after each respective hit, with no rounding, would be 65%, 42.25%, 27.5%, 17.85%, 11.6% then 7.5% of the original. However, fractional defence levels reduced by the special attack will be rounded down.
For example, on a monster with 75 Defence, the first special attack will reduce 26 levels (rounded down from 26.25), leaving the enemy at 49 Defence. The next special attack will then reduce 17 levels (rounded down from 17.15), leaving the enemy at 32 Defence.
Note: The special attack has a 1-tick delay over a regular attack, meaning if you are flinching a monster like Kalphite Queen you will be attacked.
