Fish chunks were a product of cutting open a bluegill, common tench, mottled eel, or greater siren using a knife. They could be stored in a tackle box. Fish chunks were used as a substitute for King worms when feeding the cormorant in aerial fishing. Cutting the fish has no skill requirements, but provides a small amount of Cooking experience. When catching fish, there is a 50% chance for a fish chunk to be consumed after every third catch. If it is not consumed on the third, it is guaranteed to be consumed on the fourth, meaning each chunk is consumed every 3.5 catches on average.

As part of the Sailing technical pre-release, all fish chunks were converted into fish offcuts, which now also function as food for the cormorant in aerial fishing.
