Tunnels can be found across the Mushroom Forest, located on Fossil Island. The tunnels may contain a herbiboar, but players must first follow footprints obtained by searching clues. Players can start tracking the herbiboar by inspecting either the rocks, mushroom, or driftwood found across the forest. Eventually the footprints will lead the player to a tunnel containing a herbiboar, which they can attack to cause a stunned herbiboar to appear outside, granting Hunter experience. The herbiboar is then harvestable for various herbs, and Hunter experience.

The amount of Hunter experienced gained when attacking the tunnel scales based on the Hunter level of the player. The base amount is 1,950 experience, with an additional 30 experience for each level above 80 until level 94. An additional 15 experience is given for those with Hunter at level 95 and above, and afterwards 19 additional experience per level above 95.
