River trolls were a random event that used to appear when attempting to fish. On appearance, it would say Fishies be mine, leave dem fishies!. As with similar guardian random events, the river troll's combat level and stats scaled with the player's combat level, as well as only being attackable by the targeted player.

They were removed from the game with the random event update in 2014. Similar River trolls can now be found in the Enchanted Valley.
