Contract of familiar acquisition is a contract used to challenge Yama to a more difficult fight for a 1/100 chance of receiving Yami - a 25x increase from the standard fight. It can be dropped by Yama himself through opening dossiers.

The contract can be completed with a partner, though only one player needs to present the contract to Yama. The contract is consumed upon starting the fight, although if successful the challenger will receive the contract again as a drop. Unlike the other acquisition contracts, completion of this contract will still roll the loot table as normal.

If completed with a partner, both challengers benefit from the contract. If one of the players is an ironman, the ironman must provide their own contract to benefit from it.

When the player fights Yama after signing the contract of familiar acquisition, the following changes apply:

• Yama's attacks will deal more damage through prayers.
• Yama can continuously spawn void flares.
• Players cannot heal or restore prayer via consumables.
• Special attack energy gain is doubled for natural regeneration, Death Charge and surge potions.
• Special attacks are guaranteed to hit.

• The Morse code written on the item is intended to spell the word "CONTRACT". However, the "A" (.-) is erroneously written as "N" (-.), so it says "CONTRNCT" instead, and this mistake is present in all of Yama's contracts.
• With Yama's release, before contracts could be used, Yami was initially intended to be exclusively obtained via this contract with a guaranteed drop; this was changed via a hotfix the same day to allow Yami to drop from the main fight as well as changing the contract's pet drop rate to 1/250, due to concerns about the pet being "buyable" and lack of forehand communication on an experimental mechanic.^[1]
