Infernal chunks are an item that can be smithed into an infernal plate. A chunk is created by using 10 infernal nuggets with the furnace located in the mining area on the lower level of the Chasm of fire.

Leaving the mining area - by passing the fire and walking one more tile - with an infernal chunk in the inventory will turn it into a cooled infernal chunk, though this can be reheated by bringing it back to the furnace. Players can only have one infernal chunk in their inventory at a time; attempting to make an infernal blend while already carrying a chunk gives the message You should finish working your infernal chunk at the anvil first..

Simply using the furnace while having 10 Infernal nuggets will create the Infernal chunk. Unlike the nuggets, the chunk does not need to be cooled, and just needs to be used to make the Infernal plate.
