An infernal blend is an item used in the process of creating infernal plates. They can be created with level 83 Smithing by combining 28 crushed infernal shale with 5 oathplate shards using the furnace located in the mining area on the lower level of the Chasm of Fire.

The blend must be quenched in the nearby pool of ichor in order to turn it into an infernal nugget, although it is possible for the blend to become malformed if the player takes the blend out too early. Players can only have one infernal blend in their inventory at a time, attempting to make a second blend while already carrying one gives the message You should quench your infernal blend first..
