Chromium ingots are metal bars dropped by the Leviathan, the Whisperer, Vardorvis, and Duke Sucellus. They can also be smelted via a mixture of runite and adamantite ores at the Blast Furnace, or fished up from the fishing spot at the Stranglewood, though incredibly rare. They are used in the process of creating the four ancient rings, each requiring three ingots.

To learn how to create a chromium ingot players must touch the Remnant found in the Shadow Realm at the northern furnace of the Science District in Lassar Undercity. The Shadow Realm can then be entered by stepping inside the puddle found in front of the building. Players must have the blackstone fragment in their inventory in order to use the puddle. Once the dialogue of touching the Remnant is complete (being in the dialogue will pause the player's Sanity drain), additional dialogue with the foreman at the Blast Furnace will be unlocked. Players can then create chromium ingots by selecting the second dialogue option with the foreman ("I need to borrow your blast furnace"). Creating an ingot through this process requires 85 Smithing, 40 rune ore, 40 adamant ore, and 170,000 coins for each ingot. The required ores must be noted in order for the dialogue to work. 35,000 Smithing experience is rewarded the first time an ingot is made.

• Despite its examine text, chromium in real-life is highly resistant to corrosion.
• Catching a chromium ingot at the Stranglewood fishing spot will not fill the item's collection log slot, nor will smelting an ingot at the Blast Furnace.
