A fishing spot can be found by a small dock in the south-western area of The Stranglewood. Besides raw pike, the fishing spot can also give a variety of odd items such as newspapers, old boots, acorns, and chromium ingots.

Items are gathered from this spot much more slowly than most other fishing spots in the game, and therefore it is not recommended for training Fishing, not even when trying to obtain raw pike or caskets. Despite having one of the highest drop rates for moon key loop halves, it can take longer to acquire one here than through more rewarding activities.

The spot never moves, meaning players can fish continuously until their inventories are full. Nearby strangled may attack players making their way to the dock, but after killing them or hopping worlds, they will not attack players where they fish.

Rada's blessing and spirit flakes work when fishing from this spot, even when catching non-fish items.

Although there is no level requirement to fish at this spot, accessing it requires a minimum of 63 Fishing (or 59, if boosting to 62 Fishing from 57 during the quest), as completion of Swan Song is required to start Desert Treasure II and rewards 50,000 Fishing experience.

It was not known that a chromium ingot could be obtained here until 11 August 2025. One month prior, a Jagex moderator revealed that an incredibly rare item remained undiscovered, but did not say which item or its rarity.^[4] News of the mystery item quickly spread throughout the community, causing throngs of players to fish on world 573 and speculate about the item and its rarity online.^[5][6]

According to data crowdsourced via RuneLite, over 1 million items were fished from the spot between the initial reveal and the ingot's discovery; in under one month, roughly ten times as many items were gathered as there were over the previous two years (not including Leagues).

Obtaining the chromium ingot through fishing does not produce a notification or an entry in the Collection Log.

• Upon receiving an acorn, a game message states You find an acorn. How noteworthy. which is a reference to Senior Producer Mod Acorn.
• The examine text for this fishing spot is different from most others, aside from the fishing spot in Civitas illa Fortis. It reads I can see something in the water. rather than I can see fish swimming in the water. Also, unlike most fishing spots, these two are tracked by the official client loot tracker.
• Raw pike normally require 25 Fishing to catch, but they can be caught at earlier levels from this fishing spot, although it is not normally possible to reach the spot with a Fishing level below 25.
