Arcane Scarabs are a monster that is summoned by Kephri in the Tombs of Amascut. They slowly charge up red swarms around themselves. If allowed to fully charge, they will unleash the red swarm and deal massive damage, although it can be reduced by using Protect from Magic. After enough combat, the scarab will relocate, dispersing the red swarm around them.

It is possible for the scarab to relocate if it takes 39 damage or more in a single hit.^[1] Otherwise, the scarab will relocate after 2 + N hits, where N is the amount of players in the raid. Missed attacks will contribute towards relocating the scarab whereas thrall attacks and burn damage do not.
