Honey locust is a stackable food given to players who have failed a challenge or boss room in the Tombs of Amascut. The player can consume it to heal 20 Hitpoints, with overhealing. It will also restore prayer points equal to a dose of prayer potion (7 + 25% of the player's current Prayer level, rounded down), and restore depleted combat stats equal to a dose of super restore (8 + 25% of the player's base level rounded down).

Honey locusts are a catch-up mechanic to ensure that enough supplies are available for subsequent attempts, unless the "On a Diet" invocation is enabled. The quantity given seems to vary according to the room failed; failing the final encounter typically provides more food than the previous paths.

In Expert Mode, if the player has a number of locusts greater than the amount given upon dying (e.g. more than 2 locusts at 300 Raid Level), upon consuming a honey locust their stack size will be reset to 1 with the message Some of your honey locusts fly away under the immense pressure of the tomb.

Honey locusts always heal 20 Hitpoints and can overheal, much like anglerfish and Saradomin brews do.

• The honey locust may be a reference to Matthew 3:4 in the Bible, with the King James Version quoting "And the same John [the Baptist] had his raiment of camel's hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey."
• It may also be a reference to the character Strong Belwas in A Song of Ice and Fire eating honey locusts, saving Daenerys Targaryen from a death by poison.
