Combat only pure/Mid-game

Important Upgrades

Shayzien Armour

  • One of the easiest upgrades you can get to start your midgame journey is the full Shayzien armour set. Particularly the gloves as they have +3 melee strength bonus and will be your best in slot melee gloves for a while.

Barbarian Assault

You can sell back your Barbarian Assault equipment for 80% of it's original cost by using it on Commander Connad (useful for Ulitmate Ironmen)

Pest Control

  • Unlocks void knight equipment and provides some gp each game based on your combat level (10x). If you made it this far without doing Pest Control it's best to hold off until 100+ combat so you can enter the veteran boat and get max points per hour.
  • This is one of the best methods for Ultimate Ironmen to get 99 prayer. It offers upwards of 35k xp/hr at higher prayer levels.

You can sell back your Void Knight equipment for 80% of its original cost by using it on the Dodgy Squire near the bank (useful for Ultimate Ironmen)

Mage Arena I

  • Mage Arena I can be done right at 60 mage for a god cape.
  • You don't need to unlock all of the spells until you are ready for Mage Arena II.
  • 200+ Fire Bolt or Fire Blast casts, 37 prayer, Zamorak robes, and some food will easily kill Kolodion and all 5 of his forms.
  • You can use blighted food and restores from Last Man Standing (750 total level and 30 qp requirement)

Mage Arena II

To prepare for Mage Arena II it's important to keep every blood rune drop you can. To fully unlock all god spells in the wilderness and kill the bosses you will need about 1000 blood runes. You can buy some at Regath's Wares in Arceuus but it's very costly. If you don't have enough runes it's recommended to get 50 slayer and safespot mutated bloodvelds in the catacombs of kourend.

  • It's recommended to get 80 magic (boostable from 77 with wizard mind bomb) so that you can use charge spell.
  • You can use blighted food and restores from Last Man Standing to kill the bosses (750 total level and 30q p requirement).
  • South of the wilderness fence, you can more safely travel to the hotspots for each boss on a free-to-play World.
  • It will take about 75 casts of each god spell (with charge) to kill the bosses. Each boss has their own mechanics so be prepared with your best food and full prayer.
  • You can high alch the god staves after each boss to get back some gp.
  • You might need an antipoison depending on where the bosses spawn

Mage Training Arena

Forthos Dungeon

  • Unlocks Sarachnis and the Cudgel
  • Unlocks a decent prayer training method with red dragons
  • Can kill Undead Druids for an amulet of strength, amulet of magic, and the zombie champion scroll

Wilderness God Wars Dungeon

  • Really only useful to obtain the Magic Shortbow from Spiritual Rangers if 63 slayer.
  • You can safely kill the spiritual rangers in the South-West corner of the Dungeon without attracting any Armadyl or Bandos minions.
  • All you need if you kill in the south-west corner is one zamorak item like zamorak robes and one saradomin item like monk robes.
  • Will be used later to get dragon boots at 83 slayer.

Clues

The hard and elite clue grind is one of the most beneficial for an 807. It's recommended to do as many hard clues before fight caves that you can. They have a chance to give you good range gear like black or god d'hide and the Magic Shortbow. Alongside the gear you can get purple sweets or sharks to use for the fire cape attempt also. There are ways to get items like the Magic Shortbow outside of Hard caskets but if you get lucky it will unlock a lot of content earlier and avoid tedious grinds. You should immediately get the Magic Shortbow Imbue Scroll from Last Man Standing if you do manage to get the bow early on.

Ultimate Ironmen should look into clue juggling to increase the completion rate dramatically.

Hard Clues

Elite Clues

  • Dragonstone bracelet (enchant to a combat bracelet)

Fight Caves

If you have been following the 807 commandment of always carrying a clean cadantine for the Jekyll and Hyde random event you will hopefully have some super restores ready for a fight cave attempt. If you need more you could kill crazy archaeologist or grind 72 slayer for wyverns (you don't need an antifire shield to safespot these just lose aggro first by waiting at the entrance for 10 minutes).

If you did any medium or hard clues you might have stockpiled some purple sweets and sharks. It's recommended to get the Magic Shortbow (i) from hard clues or spiritual rangers at 62 slayer before attempting fight caves. If you want to use a Rune Crossbow instead it's recommended to grind runite or adamant bolts from Soul Wars Spoils of War to be a strong as possible. You can also buy Dragonstone bolts (e) from Justine's stuff for the Last Shopper Standing using your LMS points (20 bolts for 3 LMS points). If you can't do Soul Wars or LMS the next best option is spending Slayer Points on broad bolts.

To conserve supplies it's best to understand how the wave rotations work within the fight caves. If you use the wave rotation guide linked below you can position your account better each wave to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

There are multiple variations of the gear and inventory listed below. Choose what best suits your current gear.

  • 10-14 Super Restores or Prayer Potions
  • Purple Sweets (if you got more than 20 from clues)
  • Cooked Karambwans
  • Sharks (if you got any from hard clues)
  • Strawberries (HP per strawberry depends on your hitpoints level)
  • Strongest Bolts for Jad (depending on if using Rune Crossbow and swapping bolts for Jad)
  • Strongest Arrows for Jad (depending on if using Magic shortbow (i) and swapping arrows for Jad)

Equipment

  • Full Void Range Equipment
  • Magic Shortbow (i)
  • Amulet of Power, god stole, amulet of accuracy (glory (t) if you got lucky with hard clues)
  • Ranging Cape, Soul Wars cape, Vestment Cloak, Mage Arena I or II cape

  • God dhide shield, Granite Kiteshield, Rune Kiteshield (if using Rune Crossbow and tanking rangers)
  • Runite, Adamant, Broad Bolts (if using Rune Crossbow)
  • Rune arrows, Adamant arrows, Broad arrows (if using Magic shortbow)
  • Black / God d'hide with Ranger hat or tank helm (if not using full void)

Mid-game Slayer

It's not recommended to start slayer before 75 combat due to poor assignments, points, and xp rates. If you do choose to start before then please make sure to skip Ernest the Chicken quest and Priest in Peril this way you wont get assigned Killerwatts or Morton Shades.

Pre 75 combat

  • Vannaka
  • Krystillia wilderness slayer
  • Turael point boosting.

75+ combat

Once you hit 75 combat you can start doing Konar Slayer. The quickest way to Mount Karulum is by using the Xeric's Talisman Inferno teleport and walking west. If you're on the Arceuus spellbook you can use the battlefront teleport.

It's recommended to start with Turael point boosting by using Turael for task milestones 1-9 then Konar on the 10th. Doing this twice plus the 30 points you get from A Porcine of Interest quest will allow you to unlock superiors right away. This will greatly increases your xp rates for slayer. You can stop point boosting unless if you plan on getting Rune Pouch from slayer points over LMS.

Some 807s prefer to use Nieve post 85 combat and only using Konar on 10th streak milestone tasks. This way you are not location locked but you will lose out on some brimstone key loot. To get to Nieve use the Grand Exchange spirit tree.

Unlocks (recommended in priority order)

  1. Superior Creatures
  2. 100 points for slayer block (typically black demons)
  3. Bloodveld extension (amazing if killing the mutated bloodvelds in catacombs of kourend)
  4. Lizardmen Tasks (great to keep Xeric's talisman charges up. Kill near Lacerta Falls to simply tag lizardmen that are already in combat with Shayzien gurads)
  5. Gargoyle smasher
  6. Gargoyle extension
  7. 1x Slayer ring (only if you're in need of a lvl 30 wildy teleport like during spiritual ranger magic shortbow grind)
  8. Rune Pouch (only if skipping Last Man Standing. It's best to Turael point boost up to this if you don't do LMS)
  9. More extensions and skipping tasks.

Mid-game Skill Training

Most of your combat experience will come from slayer tasks and grinding gear upgrades at this point but some of the more important methods and reasons to train are listed below.

Prayer

Range

You want to focus on getting 99 range so people stop asking "why no avas accumulator?" while you're safespot slaying. The 99 ranging cape acts as a basic avas accumulator.

Strength

If you're doing a lot of melee you should be focusing on strength training. Unlocking the strength skillcape teleport makes resupplying at the warriors guild super easy.

Ultimate Ironman should rush 99 strength to unlock the warriors guild teleport from the strength cape.

Mid-game Bossing

Sarachnis

  • Sarachnis is a mid-level boss which will help newer players practice prayer switching, and prioritising targets (namely Sarachnis' Mage spawn) as an 807.
  • Unlocks the Cudgel which is a best in slot weapon for some situations.

Dagannoth Rex

  • Dagannoth Rex drops one of the best rings for an 807, the Berserker ring, which can be imbued at soul wars reward shop. While NMZ is accessible on an 807, it is not recommended. The quests we have access to are not great for the minigame.
  • It's recommended to bring an alt account that can help tank some of the Spinolyp damage.
  • If you don't have an alt account try to stock up on the best range defence gear that you can like granite shield and top or try your luck at barrows.

Skotizo

  • To kill skotizo without the eye totems respawning: let all four eyes spawn and wait about 1 minute before killing them all. If done properly they will never spawn again and you can focus on killing Skotizo
  • Great for hard clue chances and soul rune drops.

Lizardman Shamans

Mid-game Barrows

Pre 83 magic (2-3 kills per hour)

Post 83 magic (3-4 kills per hour)

Post 87 slayer (10+ kc per hour)

  • This is when barrows becomes very efficient. Resupply prayer and food using Ferox Enclave respawn teleport or Xeric's talisman Chambers of Xeric's reset.
  • Teleport using the Arceuus barrows teleport and kill brothers with a charged trident and spec weapon like magic shortbow (i) for Ahrim.
  • With a trident and a good resupply option it's almost impossible to use food or prayer pots unless you get a bad tunnel like Karil or Ahrim.
  • Don't forget to utilize safespots for melee brothers and monsters in the tunnels.
