Slayer task/Spiders

Spiders can be assigned as a Slayer task by Turael, Spria, and Krystilia. They can be found in numerous places across Gielinor.

Most spiders generally use melee, but a few stronger ones will also use Ranged and/or Magic alongside them. Low-levelled spiders are generally weak to all forms of combat, though higher-levelled spiders are weaker to crush.

There are many varieties of spiders that players can kill as part of a Slayer task, though for low-levels, the spiders around Lumbridge are a reasonable spot.

Due to the low number of spiders assigned by the Slayer masters, it is generally recommended to not kill the minions when fighting Sarachnis if choosing to fight her for the task, as she spawns four minions per fight when faced solo, which can quickly end the task.

Araxytes can be killed in place of a spider task, though this option requires 92 Slayer in order to fight them. A boost from wild pie can be used at 87 Slayer, but it is recommended to wait at least until 90 Slayer before using boosts for a reasonable amount of uptime. Killing the minions in this encounter does not decrement the task, but will still grant Slayer experience.

Players who seek a greater challenge or assigned spiders by Krystilia can opt to kill Venenatis or Spindel for their Slayer task, as they count towards it and provide a generous amount of drops. They are especially popular for Wilderness Slayer due to their higher value. Remember that both reside in the Wilderness, and it is not recommended for players to bring items they are unwilling to lose. Accessing Spindel requires completion of the Hard Wilderness Diary, while Venenatis only requires the Medium Wilderness Diary but is located in significantly deeper Wilderness that is a multicombat area. A one-time fee of 50,000 coins is required to access the boss, which must be paid again if the player dies to another player within any of the wilderness bosses respective lairs. Taking out the Spiderlings in either fight will not decrement the player's Slayer task.

If the player is assigned spiders by Krystilia but does not want to kill the spider bosses, it is recommended they head to the "spider hill" (located around level 46 Wilderness, with a cut sapphire being the location's landmark) and place a cannon there with very little risk. All of the spiders here are aggressive with low hitpoints, making the task breeze by in a matter of minutes. Alternatively, the player can bring a very fast ranged attack weapon (such as darts or knives) to very quickly kill the Level 1 spiderlings, which have 2 HP each, so that even a task of 100 spiders can be completed in about 5 minutes without using a cannon.

• Spiders are found through-out Morytania, notably within the Haunted Woods. They attempt to follow players and summon feral vampyres to attack players who get too close.
