Catfish are a type of inedible fish that are offered at the mysterious altar in the Ruins of Camdozaal, granting 16 Prayer experience.

Catfish can be obtained by preparing a raw catfish on the preparation table whilst having a knife. Preparing catfish requires level 46 Cooking and grants 43 experience when successful. Players may ruin the catfish during preparation, resulting in a ruined catfish; the chance of failure while preparing these will decrease as players reach higher Cooking levels.

At 78 Cooking, players are no longer able to ruin catfish during preparation. However, players can stop ruining catfish at an earlier level if they purchase the Preparation buff from Ramarno's Shard Exchange for 2500 Barronite shards.
