Lava eel is a type of untradeable fish that restores 11 Hitpoints when eaten. During Heroes' Quest, guild master Achietties will ask players to obtain a cooked lava eel to prove that they are worthy of membership to the Heroes' Guild. It can be obtained by cooking raw lava eel on a fire or cooking range, requiring level 53 Cooking and granting 30 experience when successful. There is no chance of burning a lava eel.

• Despite living in a lava pool, lava eels are cooked on a fire. In real life, lava is much hotter than a simple campfire. This is also stated in the examine text.
• There was previously a glitch that caused the fishing spots for lava eels to float far above the actual lava. This has been fixed.
