Suffixes refer to additional information appended to the end of a game object's name which is contained within parentheses; game object in this case can refer to any of the following: non-player characters, monsters, items, or objects. Suffixes are generally used to denote specific attributes or to help distinguish one object from a similar object.
Common suffixes

| (unf) | Unfinished potions or bolts (aka unfeathered). |
| (u) | Generally denotes an unstrung item, can also refer to upgraded, uncharged, or unfinished. |
| (empty) | Denotes an item as exhausted, used up entirely, or never filed. Some items function similarly to (uncharged) items. |
| (full) | Denotes an item as full to capacity. |
| (w) | Denotes a tree seedling has been watered. |
| (m) | Ales that have been become mature during the brewing process. |
| (kg) | Differentiates the weight of an object in kilograms. |
| (a) | Activated items. |
| (nz) | Nightmare Zone variants of items. |
| (lg) | Grand Exchange item sets containing platelegs. |
| (sk) | Grand Exchange item sets containing plateskirts. |
| (wound) | Denotes a clockwork toy that has been wound, ready to release. |
| (tattered) | Differentiates tattered from regular Kq heads as a guarenteed drop. |
| (+) | Denotes greater raid potion potency. |
| (-) | Denotes weaker raid potion potency. |
| Equipment-based | |
| (e) | Enchanted or enhanced equipment. |
| (f) | Fortified equipment, denoting an upgraded reward from the Tombs of Amascut. |
| (i) | Imbued equipment or Ice gloves stuffed inside the Smith's gloves. |
| (p), (p+), (p++) | Poisonous, indicating the type of weapon poison ((+), (++)) applied. |
| (kp) | Poisonous, indicating karambwan paste was applied. |
| (broken) | Unusable after death within the Wilderness below level 20. |
| (l) | Locked items enchanted with trouver parchments, prevents items from becoming (broken) upon death beyond level 20 within the Wilderness. |
| (uncharged) | Degradable items with no charges remaining, unusable or usable without item effects. |
| (inactive) | Denotes an item as being inactive, functionally similar to (uncharged). |
| (basic), (attuned), (perfected) | Denotes tier of equipment created in the Gauntlet. |
| (r) | Denotes the recoil effect, or red ornamentation of an item. |
| (o) | Offensive blackjacks. |
| (d) | Defensive blackjacks. |
| (b) | Blessed items able to cast bloom. |
| (lit) | Lit fire arrows used in the Underground Pass quest. |
| (c) | Corrupted elven weapons. |
| (bh) | Bounty hunter exclusive items. |

| (t) | Trimmed equipment. |
| (g) | Gilded or Gold-trimmed equipment. |
| (or) | Denotes certain ornamental equipment. |
| (h1) | Denotes an item that is part of set 1 of heraldic armour. |
| (h2) | Denotes an item that is part of set 2 of heraldic armour. |
| (h3) | Denotes an item that is part of set 3 of heraldic armour. |
| (h4) | Denotes an item that is part of set 4 of heraldic armour. |
| (h5) | Denotes an item that is part of set 5 of heraldic armour. |
| (dark) | Denotes an item that is part of the dark mystic robes set. |
| (light) | Denotes an item that is part of the light mystic robes set. |
| (dusk) | Denotes an item that is part of the dusk mystic robes set. |
| (cr) | Ornamental corrupted dragon equipment. |
| (deadman) | Ornamental deadman themed equipment. |
| Difficulty based | |
| (beginner) | Differentiates items as part of beginner Treasure Trails. |
| (easy) | Denotes an item as easy. |
| (medium) | Denotes an item as medium. |
| (hard) | Denotes an item as hard. May also refer to the monsters encountered in the hard mode Nightmare Zone. |
| (elite) | Denotes an item as elite. |
| (master) | Differentiates items as part of master Treasure Trails. |
| Miscellaneous | |
| (numerical) | Denotes quantity, such as remaining charges or contents of a container, or tier of item. |
| (blue) | Denotes blue colour. |
| (green) | Denotes green colour. |
| (red) | Denotes red colour. |
| (tier) | Denotes an item is divided into tiers, always accompanied by a numerical value. |
| (dry) | Differentiates an items dry state. |
Single-use suffixes
- (enraged), used by Tekton in his enraged stance.
- (eternal), used to differentiate a slayer ring (eternal) made with an eternal gem.
- (excerpt), used to denote The truth behind the myth (excerpt) as being a partial text.
- (giant krill), (haddock), (yellowfin), (halibut), (bluefin) and (marlin), used to differentiate between filled fish crates.
- (guthix), (saradomin), and (zamorak), used to differentiate between the rune scimitar ornament kits.
- (Healthy), used by kharidian cactus to indicate that it can fill a waterskin.
- (herb) and (water), used by dream vials to differentiate between states.
- (inert), used to denote an uncharged Xeric's talisman.
- (Left claw) and (Right claw), used by the hands of the Great Olm boss.
- (level), used during The Forsaken Tower quest to differentiate between energy disk sizes.
- (maxhit), used by active undead combat dummies.
- (Novice), (Intermediate), and (Veteran), used by Squire (Novice), Squire (Intermediate), and Squire (Veteran) respectively to indiciate which Pest Control lander they operate.
- (orange), used by the mystical barrier inside the Chambers of Xeric.
- (part), used by torn clue scrolls as part of master Treasure Trails.
- (Razmire) and (Ulsquire), used by Razmire Keelgan and Ulsquire Shauncy in afflicted states.
- (ring) and (seeds), used by nest boxes to differentiate between contents.
- (s), used by the silver ornamental version of amulet of rancour.
- (second form), (third form), and (fourth form), used by the witch's experiment's different stages.
- (sick), (very sick), (ghastly!), and (well), used by Marv, Hank, Wilf, Sarah, and Rachel during the campsite Temple Trekking event.
- (unpowered), used by incomplete bottled dragonbreath.
- (untradeable), used by old school bonds that have been traded.
- (wet), used during the 2017 Christmas event to differentiate wet Santa suit from other states.
- (white), used by the energy focus in the jewelled crab room in the Chambers of Xeric.
Grand Exchange pricing experts
Each of the Grand Exchange pricing experts, with the exception of Brugsen Bursen, has their own unique suffix.
- (herbs), used by Bob Barter (herbs).
- (logs), used by Relobo Blinyo (logs).
- (ores and bars), used by Farid Morrisane (ores and bars).
- (runes), used by Murky Matt (runes).
- (weapons and armour), used by Hofuthand (weapons and armour).
