(l)

(l) is a suffix applied to untradeable equipment that has been locked using a Trouver parchment and 500,000 coins via Perdu. In a PvP death, unprotected items with this suffix are prevented from becoming destroyed when dying above level 20 Wilderness. The unprotected locked item is sent to the inventory in broken form at level 20 Wilderness and below, or mangled form above level 20 Wilderness, and must be repaired at Perdu beforing becoming usable again. The locked item will not lose its locked status.

While a locked rune pouch is kept in the inventory, runes stored inside the locked rune pouch are still lost to the killer.

Upon PvM death anywhere (including instances and any level of the Wilderness), any locked items will stay with the player, in unbroken and unmangled form. If any of those locked items are equipped, they will stay equipped after respawning, meaning the player will not have to re-equip them. As well, the item(s) will not lose its locked status. This is very useful in certain PvM situations. For example, if one died while equipped with a full set of locked elite void, the player would respawn with the full set already equipped and the items would keep their locked status.

Players can use a locked item on Perdu to remove the (l) suffix, refunding the trouver parchment and 475,000 coins.

Items

Note: Items not on this list may still have an (l) suffix from before the Trouver rework update, such as fire cape (l). As these items are discontinued and can no longer be locked by Perdu, on death they will behave like their regular counterparts without the (l) suffix, despite what the Items Kept on Death (Interface) states.
