Walkthrough
- To begin, sail to Wyrmscraig, found slightly south-west of Charred Island. Be sure not to bring a sloop, as it will not fit in a cave entered later in the quest.
- Bring all combat equipment with you, as you will be unable to bank or teleport to the island until the quest is complete.
- Dock at the island and try to run onto the island, and you will be stopped by Ffion.
- Run to Auchrie and speak to Cormac in the centre hut.
- Speak to Muriel in the building immediately north-east of Cormac's hut, then run to the closest area marked on the map with the Mining icon.
- Search the tent for a pickaxe, hammer, and chisel if needed, then inspect the sunstone monolith.
- Mine a piece off the sunstone monolith, and chisel it into a sunstone core. The scrawled notebook may be dropped.
- Follow the trail of dust to the south-west tip of the island and investigate the large hat.
- Head back to Cormac and speak to him.
- Sail into Wyrmscraig Cavern on the south-west side of the island with either a skiff or raft.
- Kill the three mountain trolls nearest to Mortimer in the cavern. The area is multicombat, lower levelled players may consider praying Protect from Melee.
- Speak to Mortimer again, then follow the path north until you see a golem. ( You may exit the cave to mine the rocks to gain access to the agility shortcut for ease of access to the cathedral later)
- Investigate the golem, use the sunstone core you mined on the golem, then open the chest inside the room (combination: right, left, down, down).
- Use a hammer or chisel on the ancient sunstone core to get a key, and climb the stairs.
- You must now fight the Mad Angel.
- Pray against melee, moving behind the angel when she brings her sword back slowly.
- When she launches a spiky ball, run to the spot where it lands to avoid taking heavy damage. It will bounce twice to another spot, run to each.
- When she starts charging a blue lightning attack, pray Protect from Magic. This will reduce the damage by 50% normally, but will negate all damage if only activated 4 ticks (2.4s) after the charging begins.
- "...!" will indicate she is entering her enraged phase. Special attacks will be performed faster, with her lightning attack in three strikes. The third strike will have a delay of 2 ticks (1.2s) rather than 4.
- Search the body after defeating her and read the note, then return to Cormac.
- Quest complete!
