Dawn scarab

Dawn scarabs are a species of giant scarab beetles, known for their intelligence and long lifespans. They supposedly lived in the Kharidian Desert until they were wiped out during the Kharidian–Zarosian War. Following this, the sole survivor of the race was a female known as Kephri. Kephri however made a deal with Amascut for her to produce offspring. Amascut used this deal to wipe out Kephri's mind, making her a mindless husk. Kephri's offspring were however not the same race as their mother, rather being a creation of Amascut herself.

After an adventurer slew Kephri to free Scabaras from Amascut's grip, they decided to collect her dung. Upon cleaning it, they found a dawn scarab egg amidst the waste and gave it to the High Priest of Scabaras to care for, leaving the current fate of the species unknown.
