Realm of Memories was removed after an update. As the contents of this page no longer exist in Old School RuneScape, this article is preserved for historical purposes.

The Realm of Memories is an area that was accessible after completion of the 20th and 25th Anniversary events. It was accessed by opening a portal into the past of RuneScape, and contained old versions of creatures from across Gielinor as they initially appeared at RuneScape 2's launch.

The early models that are present in the Realm are kept in enclosures surrounded by barriers, organized into four Ziggurat-like elevated quadrants.

Players are able to enter each barriered section and attack these enemies. The area is a safe area and all items are kept upon death. If a player died to the enemies, they respawned with full health but without losing any items during the 20th Anniversary event and 25th Anniversary event, and respawned near the exit portal.

Note that monsters (with the exception of the scorpions and king scorpions) do not drop any loot when killed in the Realm of Memories, nor do they count toward an active Slayer task or Combat Achievements. King black dragon and Kalphite Queen still roll for unique loot, but instead of dropping it, the game will instead display a message telling you that you would've received the drop had you killed the real version.

Players can also speak with former NPCs from RuneScape's history: the Gnome Child, Chuck, Thrander, Pious Pete, and Big Mo.

Dwarf multicannons cannot be placed inside the Realm of Memories. If players attempted to place one during the 20th Anniversary event, the Gnome Child stated The creatures of this realm are neither truly canonical nor cannonable. During the 25th Anniversary event, a chat message would state The archaic atmosphere won't let you set up a cannon here.

Mithril seeds and adamant seeds cannot be planted inside the Realm of Memories. Attempting to do so during the 25th Anniversary event gave the message The archaic atmosphere won't let you plant your flowers here.

• Mysterious Watchers in the Realm of Memories.
• Green gnome cheerleaders having a party.
• Big Mo.
• Cabbage and ashes next to a brazier.
• A bug.

• The Realm of Memories is a copy of the 1v1 Arena originally used for the 2018 All Stars: PVP Championship, which remains in the game, albeit inaccessible.
• A cabbage and a pile of ashes can be found in the south-west corner of the Realm, which respectively reference RuneScape creator Andrew Gower and 20th Anniversary event developer Mod Ash.
• After the end of 20th Anniversary event, players inside the Realm of Memories could find themselves on login in a blacker blackhole and be shortly taken to the top floor of Wizards' Tower next to where the portal to Realm of Memories used to be.
• After the end of the 25th Anniversary event, players inside the Realm of Memories would be transported back to Wizard Gary's room. When asked about reopening the portal to the Realm, he states that the mementos have expired and he doesn't want to repeat the project.
• One of the statues in the south-west corner has the examine text "A memorial to an Old Knight". This is likely a reference to The Old Nite, a RuneScape player who passed away from cancer. The same player is also referenced in The Old Nite pub in Ferox Enclave.
