Tarddiad

Tarddiad (pronounced tar-THEE-add) is the original homeworld of the elves. Long before the First Age on Gielinor, it was discovered by the goddess Seren. She was enamoured by the elves and stayed with them, teaching them the art of crystal singing.[1] Seren also granted the elves longevity, but at the cost of bonding the elves to her.[2][3] To break this bond, Seren convinced the elves to come to Gielinor after having been told of its power by Guthix.[4] Eight of the nine elven clans came with her. The Cywir Clan decided to stay behind.[5] It is currently unknown if they survived after being separated from Seren for so long.

Players currently cannot visit the planet.

Trivia

  • Tarddiad means 'origin' or 'source' in Welsh.
  • Cywir, in reference to the Cywir Clan, means 'correct' or 'right' in Welsh.
  • According to the book titled Harmony in the Grand Library of Prifddinas, the planet contains a species of plant called silverkin bushes.
