A pickaxe is found on the floor inside the Nightmare Zone when Slagilith is present in the session. Picking it up gives the player a pickaxe variant with the (nz) suffix, which is specific to the Nightmare Zone. The pickaxe can also be equipped directly from the ground, placing the player's currently equipped weapon in their inventory.
Which metallic tier of pickaxe the player picks up depends on their Attack level: an iron pickaxe is received if it is lower than 20; a mithril pickaxe if it is between level 20 and 40; while a rune pickaxe is received at levels 40 and higher.
