Shields are normally a piece of equipment used to defend. However, certain shields can be used to attack or wielded in the weapon slot.

Most of the shields that can be used to attack are wielded in the shield slot and use a chargeable special attack to deal damage. The only shield that can be wielded in the weapon slot is Dinh's bulwark.

All of these shields give far more defence bonuses than attack bonuses.

Aside from Dinh's bulwark, all other shields that can do damage can only do so via their special attacks. All of these special attacks require the shield to be charged.
