Paddewwa was once a fortress of the Zarosian Empire. It was destroyed by Saradomin's forces following the Betrayal of Zaros.

Little is known of Paddewwa. Geographically, it was located roughly in the area of modern-day Edgeville. Its exact purpose during the Second Age remains a mystery, as Zaros held absolute power across nearly all of what is now Asgarnia, Misthalin, and the Wilderness. Positioned near the centre of Zaros’s main kingdom, Paddewwa was unlikely to see military conflict. Proposed reasons for its existence suggest that it was an early settlement of the Empire or a residence for citizens, situated by a river to support agriculture.

The God Wars erupted following Zaros's betrayal by Zamorak, marking the start of the Third Age, during which Paddewwa was the site of many battles. Early in the God Wars, it was assaulted by a large Bandosian force^[1], and it was also at one point under control of or under assault by Zamorakian forces, as Viggora is said to have fought many battles at Paddewwa.^[2] It was later ultimately destroyed by Saradomin's forces.

In the Fifth Age, King Roald of Varrock had the area incorporated as the town of Edgeville, while the ruins of Paddewwa became known to the people of Misthalin as the "Ghost Town". The name Edgeville given by King Roald was most likely due to the fact that it was right on the edge of Varrock, or because it sits at the edge of the Wilderness.
