General Viggora was once a powerful and vicious human warrior of the late Second Age. He was one of the few Zarosian generals, and the only one of them to be human. He built the Slayer Tower, also known as Viggora's Folly, a massive and dark tower of Morytania that holds many horrific beasts that require a special technique in order to be slain. He eventually betrayed Zaros and became a follower of Zamorak, who was another one of Zaros's generals at that time. Viggora was a powerful general despite being a human, having possessed a powerful chainmace that he used during his conquests. He was also a skilled swordsman.

He assaulted Zaros' castle with Zamorak, who was attempting to overthrow Zaros. He watched Zamorak surprisingly defeat the Empty Lord and ascend to godhood as a result. However, when Zaros fell, Zaros cursed all those who played a role in Zamorak's plot, and, since Viggora was human and had a much shorter lifespan than the others, the curse was stronger on him, turning him into an invisible ghost for the rest of eternity. Since the other Zamorakians were alive much longer and had longer lifespans still, the curse of Zaros had a much less harmful effect on them and it is unknown what these effects even were. Following his demise, his chainmace was claimed by another Zamorakian follower who eventually perished in the Wilderness and returned as a revenant.

He is the last character the player must speak to in the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest, and explains much of the story of Zamorak's betrayal of Zaros. A ring of visibility (ring of shadows after completion of Desert Treasure II) and a ghostspeak amulet must be worn in order to see him and communicate with him. After hearing his story, you'll receive a Ghostly cloak from him.

Viggora can be found at one of the following locations, specific to each player, which can be found in the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest notes after its completion:

• Paddewwa, Edgeville Dungeon, inside the far room with the Earth warriors, at around Level 10 Wilderness.
• 1^st floor of the Rogues' Castle in the deep Wilderness.
• 1^st floor of the Canifis Slayer Tower, just before the Infernal Mages, in the narrow hallway after the stairs (take a nose peg or Slayer helmet if using the spiked chain shortcut. Bring a ghostspeak amulet, in addition to your ring of visibility).

Viggora is the solution to the master cryptic clue: Come brave adventurer, your sense is on fire. If you talk to me, it's an old god you desire. Players must have completed the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest up until the point where the player needs to talk to Viggora. After the miniquest, be sure to bring a ghostspeak amulet (Morytania legs 2, Morytania legs 3, and Morytania legs 4 also work), as well as a ring of visibility (ring of shadows also works). Viggora will be in the same place as during the miniquest, which is written in the miniquest log.

• The earth warriors in Edgeville Dungeon are less likely to attack the player if the player stands still to prevent interrupting the player during the dialogue with Viggora.^[1]
