Valdez was a Saradominist explorer who lived in the Second Age, and can be found wandering around the entrance to Glarial's Tomb, only visible while wearing a Ring of visibility. He is the first mysterious ghost that must be spoken to in the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest, and he will give the player the Ghostly robe (top). As with all ghosts, the Ghostspeak amulet or Morytania legs must be worn to be able to speak with ghosts. After completion of the miniquest, you can speak with him to recover any piece of the ghostly robes.

He tells the player how he found the staff of Armadyl in a buried temple and tried to take it to Entrana to Saradomin. However, he was accosted and killed by the thief Rennard and so he never managed to deliver it.
