A bird's egg can be obtained from egg bird nests which come from various sources, such as falling out of a tree while Woodcutting or as loot from Bird house trapping. They can come in three different colours: green, blue, and red which represent the colours of Guthix, Saradomin, and Zamorak, respectively.

These eggs can be offered to the shrine in the Woodcutting Guild to receive 100 Prayer experience and a bird nest with seeds or a piece of the evil chicken outfit as a reward. Each piece of the evil chicken outfit has a 1/1200 chance of being awarded, resulting in approximately a 1/300 chance of receiving any outfit piece.^[1] Any outfit piece will replace a nest, so a full inventory will not compromise receiving the outfit piece.

Considering the value of the nest with seeds from the shrine, the value of all pieces of the evil chicken outfit, and the chance of obtaining one of these pieces, the average value of one egg is 7,075.00.

The chances of getting a bird nest from a tree is 1/256 each time a player would normally get a log (except the blisterwood tree and redwood tree, which do not drop bird nests other than clue nests). When a player receives a nest, the chance of the nest containing a bird's egg is 3/100 (each colour egg being 1/100). When wearing a strung rabbit foot the chances are increased slightly to 3/95^[2] by decreasing the chance of getting seeds.
