Woad plants can be planted in a flower patch at level 25 Farming to yield woad leaves, which are used to make blue dye and, by extension, green and purple dye.

A nearby gardener will not watch over flower crops. It is recommended to use compost when planting them.

Woad gives 20.5 XP when planted and 115.5 XP when harvested. It takes 20 minutes to grow. Diseased woad may be restored with plant cure or the Lunar spell Cure Plant.

Gielinor's Flora

The flower is described in flowers, Gielinor's Flora volume 1:

Woad produces an eye-catching display of golden flowers and has blade shaped, bluish leaves. Interestingly, woad is from the same family as the cabbage. Since ancient times, woad has been an important source of blue dye. However, it requires a great amount of skill to produce this dye. According to an expert on dyes from Draynor, the process requires lengthy fermentation of the leaves. However, if persistent, the dye produced is a splendid colour.
