Spin Flax is a Lunar spell requiring level 76 Magic to cast. The spell spins flax into bow strings, spinning 5 flax and gaining 75 Magic experience, in addition to 15 Crafting experience per flax spun for a maximum of 75 Crafting experience per cast. The spell can be cast once every 5 game ticks. Attempting to cast the spell without having any flax in the inventory will display the message You don't have any flax to spin..

Experience rates are approximately 80k Crafting experience and 80k Magic experience per hour. The maximum possible experience rate achievable with the spell is 90k Crafting and 90k Magic experience per hour, if every action is performed perfectly.

Producing bowstrings with this spell will yield approximately 6,000 bowstrings per hour when every action is performed perfectly.

Assuming a player uses a staff that provides air runes and converts five flax into bow string per cast, casting Spin Flax will result in a profit of 530 coins.

Perfect usage of this spell can most easily be achieved through the use of a Rune pouch, Bow string spool, and Bales of flax. With the required runes in the rune pouch, simply open a bale of flax, cast Spin Flax five times, then open the next bale of flax while the fifth casts to continue the process.

The following is recommended when utilising this method:

• Upgrade the Bow string spool to minimise downtime,
• Place the bales of flax in the inventory such that the item overlaps with the Spin Flax spell when swapping between the inventory and spell book,
• Utilise Keybindings to swap between the inventory and spell book using the keyboard, leaving the mouse cursor free to hover over the inventory.
