Monkeys are small, level 3 monsters that may be found in a variety of locations. They are not ideal for training combat, as they have a low amount of hitpoints and have few useful drops. However, monkey bones do give slightly more Prayer experience than regular bones.

During the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest, all monkeys located on Karamja cannot be damaged by Melee attacks (with the exception of using a halberd to attack from beyond the monkey's melee range) as the player will be unable to touch them, rendering Magic and Ranged as the only ways to kill them. This only occurs during the quest; before and after the quest they can be damaged by all attacks. It is not possible to kill them using rings of recoil as they do not attack back during the quest.
