Dragonstone dragon bolts (e) are dragonstone dragon bolts that are enchanted via the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Dragonstone) spell by a player with level 68 Magic. The spell enchants 10 bolts per cast, and uses 1 cosmic, 1 soul, and 15 earth runes. These bolts can only be used with a dragon crossbow or better.

Dragonstone dragon bolts (e) have a 6% chance of triggering the Dragon's breath effect upon a successful hit. This inflicts a dragonfire against the target, adding extra damage to a bolt hit equal to 20% of the attacker's visible Ranged level, rounded down. For example, if the player boosts to achieve a Ranged level of 112, the extra damage is 22. Slightly more extra damage is done if under the passive effect of the Zaryte crossbow (22% instead of 20%).

If the target is immune to dragonfire, the special effect will not activate. This also applies to players using Protect from Magic, which likewise fully blocks Dragon's breath from activating.^[1]

Enchanted dragonstone bolts are notable because of their effectiveness in PVP, with a chance of hitting extremely hard against opponents without antifire protection. Some players may use Opal dragon bolts (e) instead due to having the same Ranged strength bonus at a similar cost, while its damage is harder to nullify. A player with 99 Ranged and using the appropriate boosts (namely Rigour, the Elite Void Knight equipment set effect, and a Ranging potion) can achieve a max hit of 71 with the special in PvP scenarios, one higher than using the runite counterparts.

If the player has completed the Hard Kandarin Diary, there is a 10% increase of the likelihood that the special effect of an enchanted bolt will occur. This effect is always active regardless if the headgear is equipped. This would make a total of 6.6% chance to activate. As the effect only has a chance of triggering after passing a successful Ranged accuracy roll first, players can expect a lower rate of activation overall.^[2]

This effect can only activate on a successful hit.
