Sapphire dragon bolts (e) are sapphire dragon bolts that are enchanted via the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Sapphire) spell by a player with level 7 Magic. The spell enchants 10 bolts per cast, and uses 1 cosmic, 1 mind, and 1 water rune. These bolts can only be used with a dragon crossbow or better.

Sapphire dragon bolts (e) have a chance of triggering the Clear Mind effect.

Clear Mind drains a portion of the target's Prayer points and grants them to the attacker. The chance of this effect occurring and amount drained varies when attacking Monsters or Players

If the player has completed the Hard Kandarin Diary, there is a 10% increase of the likelihood that the special effect of an enchanted bolt will occur. This effect is always active regardless of whether or not the headgear is equipped.

The chance of the special effect occurring is 25% in PvM^[1] and increases to 27.5% with the Hard Diary completion.

Clear Mind drains 1/10th of the target's current Ranged level, rounded down, from the target's Prayer points. The attacker restores 1/8th of this amount as prayer points, even if the target does not visibly use overhead prayers. This means in most situations a player can expect to recover points equal to 1/80th of the enemy's Ranged level, rounded down.

For example on creatures such as the Taloned Wyvern (Ranged level 90) you can expect to restore 1 Prayer point per activation, on a boss like Zulrah (Ranged level 300) the bolts can restore 3 Prayer points and on TzTok-Jad (Ranged level 960) the sapphire bolts can restore up to 12 Prayer points per activation.

The base chance of the special effect occurring is 5% in PvP^[2] and increases to 5.5% with the Hard Diary completion.

Clear Mind drains 1/20th of the attacker's current Ranged level, rounded down, from the target's Prayer points. The attacker gains half of that amount, rounded down again.^[3] For example, if the attacker has level 99 in Ranged, then the target loses 4 Prayer points, and the attacker gains 2. With boosts, up to 5 points can be drained, though only 2 points will be restored still.

If the amount of Prayer points to be drained is higher than the number of Hitpoints the target has left, no more Prayer points can be drained than that number. The Prayer drain calculation also takes overhitting into account, resulting at times in a lower drain than might be expected from the damage roll alone.^[4]
