Zaryte bow is a temporary piece of content found only in the Nex Rewards Beta.
The contents of this page refer to a piece of content only available on temporary unrestricted worlds as a means to test it before release. Its design is subject to change, and the graphics are used as a placeholder.
This article contains information on content that was shelved before polling.
As such, the information presented here does not pertain to the live game, and is preserved for archival purposes.
The Zaryte bow has an attack range of nine, and is able to fire any type of arrow. In addition, the bow does not degrade, though it possesses a passive effect that consumes charges, similar to how an uncharged infernal axe acts as a regular a dragon axe.
The Zaryte bow was ultimately shelved and replaced by the Zaryte crossbow as a reward from Nex before being polled. With the later release of the Phantom Muspah, the venator bow was added to the game, with a similar design to the Zaryte bow.
The Zaryte bow has a passive effect that requires nihil shards to use, with one shard giving it 100 charges. When in a multicombat area, a target standing within two tiles of the main target will also get hit; wearing Zaryte vambraces will allow players to hit up to three targets within range of the main target. This consumes one charge per attack, and does not consume an additional arrow.
Unlike chinchompas, the Zaryte bow's damage for each target is rolled independently, both for accuracy (based on the player's attack bonuses versus the NPC's defence bonuses) and damage.
Historical
The Zaryte bow was one of the original rewards from Nex upon its release in RuneScape 3. Compared to Old School RuneScape's version of the bow, the original Zaryte bow had several differences:
Having the bow equipped made all factions (aside from Zaros) in the God Wars Dungeon unaggressive.
The bow did not have a passive effect.
The bow did not use ammunition, and had a Ranged Attack bonus of +120 in addition to a Ranged Strength bonus of +115 (equal to runite bolts).
The bow degraded, lasting for 60,000 shots (50 hours of continuous use on Rapid). When fully degraded, the base repair cost is 2,000,000 coins.
