Robes of Ruin

The Robes of Ruin is a reward received from completing the Crack the Clue III event. Like the Crack the Clue II event, this set is available to free-to-play players.

The set consists of the following:

• Hood of ruin
• Robe top of ruin
• Robe bottom of ruin
• Gloves of ruin
• Socks of ruin
• Cloak of ruin
• Infinite money bag

This set, aside from the Infinite money bag, can be stored in the magic wardrobe space of a costume room in a player-owned house. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces until the full set is stored.

The entire outfit is stored in chests within the basement in Varrock west bank. To access it, players need to go through two steps: first they must dig on a tile in the Lumbridge Swamp while carrying a set list of items, and second they must perform a series of emotes in the west bank basement.

Players must dig on a tile just east of the Water Altar entrance in the Lumbridge Swamp, whilst having the following 28 items in their inventory; it does not matter whether the player is currently equipping any items.

In addition, players can bring more items for convenience, such as teleports to Lumbridge and Varrock, whilst equipping some of the required items. However, players must drop the additional items and unequip the required items before digging at the indicated spot.

If the player digs and receives the game message stating "You've found a new special clue! However, a magical force prevents you from putting this item in your inventory!", they will have performed this step correctly. It is important to click on "Continue" after digging, otherwise the step will not count.

In case nothing interesting happens, go over the items individually and check for possible mix-ups. The following item mix ups, such as the pie shell and pie dish can be easily confused:

Next, travel to the Varrock west bank basement and stand by the vault gates. It does not matter what you have equipped or in your inventory.

Perform the emotes in the following order: Panic, No, Beckon, Laugh, Shrug, Cry, Spin, Yes, Think, Dance, Blow Kiss, Wave, Bow, Panic, Headbang, Jump for Joy, Angry.

If the player performs the emotes in the correct order, the Mysterious Old Man will appear and say: "Well done! It's time to take your reward!" and teleport the player past the gates.

Here, players can search the chests to obtain all the rewards. If players wish to leave, they must either teleport or perform the aforementioned set of emotes again. The vault can be entered again later by repeating the performance.

Note that the robe top of ruin can only be obtained from the chests in the Varrock west bank's basement.
