Harvey,[1] the Easter Bunny, is a frequently recurring character in Easter holiday events, first appearing in the 2013 Easter event. He is commonly associated with chocolate, specifically the production of various kinds of Easter eggs, which he delivers for the Easter holiday, but he often attempts to take shortcuts that backfire and put Easter at risk, requiring the player to save the holiday.
The Easter Bunny is most often found operating his Easter egg production in his burrow, south of Falador, though recently he has been celebrating Easter in Varrock instead to optimise his "CTPOTR" (chocolate to person over time ratio).[2] He comes from a long line of Easter Bunnies, with his parents and grandparents all having been Easter Bunnies.[3] Harvey also has at least two sons, being Chocco[4] and Milkee.[5]
Events
2013 Easter Event
In the 2013 Easter event, the Easter Bunny has a new plan. Seeing as his last plan to use ordinary rabbits failed, he plans to use magical Chocolate rabbits to deliver eggs and orders some from Diango. However, he actually receives Chocolate kebbits and they run amok and once again disrupt Easter. He then tasks the player with smashing some Chocolate kebbits into chocolate dust and retrieving a Rabbit mould which a kebbit had stolen so he could make some Chocolate rabbits and continue with his plan.
Although this event ran before the 2014 Easter event, it chronologically takes place after it. His "last" plan was using mind-control on ordinary rabbits, which hadn't actually happened yet in Old School RuneScape. This is because the Easter events were re-ran out of order; the 2013 Easter event was a re-run of the 2007 Easter event, whereas the 2014 Easter event was a re-run of the 2006 Easter event.
2014 Easter Event
In the 2014 Easter event, he attempts to make his job easier by using mind control on various smaller rabbits to do his job of delivering eggs to children for him. This fails, and the rabbits simply go and bury the eggs outside the burrow. Seeing his plan has failed, he then tasks the player with delivering 10 Easter eggs to small children for him.
2015 Easter Event
In the 2015 Easter event, the Easter Bunny received a batch of sabotaged chocolate eggs that were hatching into various creatures. The player finds out that Anti-Santa was responsible for sending a Chocolate demon to make the eggs hatch.
2016 Easter Event
In the 2016 Easter event, while preparing to produce this year's chocolate eggs, the Easter Bunny was visited by a travelling merchant who persuaded him to buy a potion that would make the chocolate taste better. However immediately after he added it to the mixture it began to bubble and an evil Chocolate Chicken hatched out of it, destroying the eggs and the presents within them. The player is requested to slay the foul chicken.
2017 Easter Event
In the 2017 Easter event, he is trying to add some variety of flavours into chocolate eggs, as people's interest in them are dwindling. He will ask the player to go to Wester Island to help his son, Chocco, to experiment on new flavours.
The player helps Chocco, but is knocked out by him after giving him several flavoured eggs to taste. The player then discovers that Chocco stole the credit for the new egg flavours, while the Easter Bunny doesn't believe it and refuses to compensate the player for their time. As a result, the player threatens to give the recipes to the Easter Bunny's competitors, resulting in the Easter Bunny submitting to the player.
2018 Easter Event
In the 2018 Easter event, the Easter Bunny asks for the player's help, well aware they are to do all the work in resolving their problems.
Upon completion of the event, he questions why he is employed when all their problems are always solved by passing adventurers. When the player asks who his employer is, he states that it is far above their pay grade to know about that.
2019 Easter Event
In the 2019 Easter event, the Easter Bunny asks for the player's help in producing some fuel for his egg making machine as it has run out of fuel and the next shipment of fuel will not arrive anytime soon.
2022 Easter Event
In the 2022 Easter event, the Easter Bunny wants the player's help delivering Easter eggs into the Kharidian Desert, where they tend to melt. During the event the player helps create the ice cream easter egg, a special type of egg that successfully withstands the heat of the desert.
2023 Easter event
In the 2023 Easter event, the Easter Bunny has lost his egg mould and needs the player's help in finding it. After finding it, the Easter Bunny asks the player for "one small favour" — to create some Easter eggs to see if it works properly.
2024 Easter event
In the 2024 Easter event, the Easter Bunny's eggs have gone missing and needs the player to find out what happened to them.
2025 Easter event
In the 2025 Easter event, the Easter Bunny is feeling glum and needs to be cheered up.
2026 Easter event
In the 2026 Easter event, the Easter Bunny needs help finding a missing egg.
Dialogue
Trivia
- The Easter Bunny has been called other names, such as Eggrabbit and Long Ears Johnson. However, his real name is Harvey.
- The name Long Ears Johnson may be a reference to a piece of dialogue in the video game Fallout: New Vegas.
- A different, female Easter Bunny appeared in the 2005 Easter event. As the event was never brought back, she has never been present in Old School RuneScape.
- In RuneScape 3, Harvey retired as being the Easter Bunny during the 2009 Easter event, being replaced by one of his sons, Junior.
- Harvey also later passed away in RuneScape 3, as indicated by a headstone commemorating him in a graveyard which can be found in that game.
- Peter is the Easter Bunny's personal delivery rabbit.
