Darkness Is Your Ally? is a grandmaster combat achievement which requires defeating the Doom of Mokhaiotl at delve levels 1 through 8 without equipping a demonbane weapon.
Strategy
This achievement is best tackled with a twisted bow. Players can opt for the bow of faerdhinen otherwise, but note that deeper delves will be much more difficult with lower DPS.
Players are prohibited from using demonbane weapons such as darklight, arclight, emberlight, scorching bow, holy water and purging staff for the duration of the achievement.
In order to handle demonic larvae, players are recommended to bring fast-hitting melee and ranged weapons (any 4-tick multi-hit weapons, such as sulphur blades and 2-tick ranged weapons such as knives on rapid), as players will incur an attack delay when killing larvae without demonbane weapons or spells. For magic, players should bring a skull sceptre or slayer's staff with runes for Superior Demonbane. While a demonbane spell is being used, the sceptre/staff is not considered a demonbane weapon and they can autocast the spell.
During the shield phase on delve 3+, players must use a demonbane spell in order to reset Doom's charge progress as they cannot use a scorching bow or demonbane sword, so make sure to cast a demonbane spell at least once before Doom reaches the 75% threshold.
