Snare is a level 50 Magic spell. Casting Snare on an opponent will prevent it from moving for 16 ticks (9.6 seconds). When used on a player and the snare is about to wear off, the snared player will receive this message in their chatbox: Players can increase the binding duration by equipping swampbark armour; the helm, body, and legs will increase the duration by 2 ticks (1.2 seconds) each, up to a maximum of 22 ticks (13.2 seconds).
Snare gives 61 Magic experience if it successfully hits the target, or 60 experience if it splashes.

Trivia
- Snare behaviour was modified without a patch note in an update. Unlike Bind and similarly to ice spells like Ice Barrage, this spell could have been cast on a target that was immune to its binding effect (likely due to the minor damage that it can inflict). Currently, attempting to cast the spell on an immobilized target results in the message , while trying to cast the spell on a target during the grace period after the end of the binding effect results in the message
