The scythe is an untradeable event reward. It can be obtained by completing one of the Halloween holiday events that occur once per year.

The scythe is not particularly powerful, as it is intended to be a decorative weapon. It has very low bonuses and a slow attack speed. Notably, it has several unique attack animations.

Previously, they were obtainable during the 2013 Rare Drops event (from 3 June to 10 June) as part of a rare item drop.

If destroyed, a replacement can be obtained from Diango in Draynor Village or from the toy box of a costume room. Thessalia in Varrock will also return this item to the player if destroyed.

• The scythe uses the default error examine info of "It's a [Item name]", as Jagex forgot to add any examine details during the RuneScape 2 Beta. The same oversight occurred with the Santa hat.
