Ancient pages are pages found within the Ancient Cavern that can be added to My notes. This can be done even without the book in the player's inventory by using the 'Copy to log' action on the page. Ancient pages are lost on death and cannot be recovered from a gravestone.
There are 26 different pages that can be found. Rummaging skeletons gives a 1/13 chance of receiving an ancient page, while the spirits and skeletons have a 5/128 (1/25.6) chance of dropping them. In addition, mithril dragons have a 1/64 chance of dropping them. Brutal green dragons do not drop the pages.
Completing the Collection Log
Because they are fairly uncommon drops, and duplicate pages can be obtained, My notes can take several hours to complete. One possible strategy for collecting them is to rummage each of the three skeletons found in the Ancient Cavern and then hop worlds.
Alternatively, you can achieve tolerance against the waterfiends found near the skeleton situated in the north-western area, near the water. Once you have done this, you can stand on the eastern tile adjacent to the skeleton's legs and rummage it. Clicking on the diagonally adjacent torso will work; your character will remain stationary.
Under these conditions, normally aggressive waterfiends will not be able to attack you, and if an NPC spawns as an outcome of rummaging the skeleton, it won't be able to initiate combat, as it will always spawn from a position where it will not be able to pathfind towards you in order to engage in melee combat.
Rummaging the skeleton has the potential to inflict damage, but this will not place you in combat. Due to all of these factors, you can freely hop worlds until you run out of supplies to sustain the damage suffered from rummaging the skeleton in this spot. With respect to that, you should delay healing as much as possible, as the damage suffered from rummaging skeletons will scale down in proportion to your current hitpoints. Food such as sharks will work, but longer lasting supplies such as Saradomin brews will be more ideal so that you can maintain tolerance for a longer period of time without having to resupply. Additionally, rummaging skeletons often places bones in the player's inventory. When buried while utilising a prayer-restoring item such as the bonecrusher necklace, the Redemption prayer can be activated whenever hitpoints are low to regain health. This strategy greatly extends the longevity of trips.
When building tolerance, bring gear to maximise prayer bonus to last ten minutes while praying against one of the waterfiend's styles and ideally defend against the unprotected style. You can also spawn a skeleton and box with it until tolerance is achieved.
Tolerance can also be achieved by running to the tile east of the skeleton's legs, then back to the entrance, and afking for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, you can begin the rummage and world hop process.

Trivia
- If rummaging barbarian skeletons, on average it will take 1,265.21, rounded to 1,266, attempts at searching the skeleton to get all 26 unique pages. Using the mean calculation from the coupon collector's problem, getting all 26 unique pages will require 100.215 pages to be collected on average; the latter value is then divided by the chance to obtain any page per attempt (16/202) to calculate the expected amount of rummage attempts.
