Barbarian skeletons are interactive scenery scattered around the ground floor of the Ancient Cavern. They can be searched for bones, ancient pages, and mangled bones, prompting a variety of results. The skeleton will respawn after 2 minutes.
Rummaging
Rummaging a skeleton will display the message You rummage in the sharp, slimy pile of bones in search of something useful..., after which one of these messages will follow:

Damage
When the skeleton is rummaged through, players have an 8/11 chance to take damage. This damage will be equal to 4 plus a random number between 0% and 19%, inclusive, of their current Hitpoints.[1]
With 99 Hitpoints, rummaging can deal up to 22 damage; with 5 Hitpoints, it will only deal up to 4. As such, minimising healing between attempts will use fewer resources. If a skeleton heavy or skeleton hero spawns when searching the bones, players can simply flee, as they will disappear when the pile of bones respawns.
