The torn curtains can be built in the curtain space of the parlour, bedroom, dining room, and portal nexus in a player-owned house. It requires 2 Construction to build and gives 132 experience when built. The player must have a hammer and a saw in their inventory to build it. The goblin decorations can be used on torn curtains to make Christmas curtains.

If another room is placed behind a pair of curtain hotspots such that it blocks the windows, the windows and curtains will be replaced with a wall decoration depending on the type of curtains. These wall decorations are not available to be built in regular decoration hotspots.
