The Menaphite Akh is the final boss encountered during the Beneath Cursed Sands quest after speaking with Osman at Maisa's camp. She can deal very high amounts of damage from her lightning and shadow attacks that can easily hit for 60+ damage if not avoided. It is recommended to keep Protect from Melee on throughout the fight. She cannot be frozen by ice spells. She can deal small amounts of damage through Protect from Melee.

The Menaphite Akh attacks with melee, using a dragon scimitar, and will occasionally use special attacks. Every 7 rounds of actions (including attack, summoning or translocation), she twitches, and will perform a lightning bolt attack and direct it in front of her. This attack can hit 70+ if not evaded. During the fight she will also summon a Menaphite Shadow that attacks with ranged or magic. She will occasionally swap places with her shadow; after which the player should run towards her as quickly as possible, or the shadow will deal large amounts of damage in return; damage will be taken even after the shadow has been killed if the screen darkening animation has begun (a chat box message will state Darkness begins to surround you! and the screen will begin to turn dark).

Thralls cannot be used during the fight. Additionally, the Akh is immune to all forms of recoil, including Vengeance, and her defence cannot be lowered below 100. ^[1]

As the Menaphite Akh has very high magic and range defence and moves at running speed (two tiles per tick), it is highly recommended to use melee during the fight. After speaking to Osman, the final battle will begin immediately. Protect from Melee and melee-boosting prayers should be activated and begin attacking the Menaphite Akh.

• Every 7 rounds of actions, she will twitch and fire a cone of lightning. It is imperative this is avoided, as this can easily kill a player with lower HP. Always be prepared to walk behind or beside her to avoid this attack, and do so immediately when you see her twitch. If you don't, you may not have enough time to move away.
• The Menaphite Akh will also summon the Menaphite Shadow who will attack with ranged if the Akh is above half HP, or magic if below. It is recommended to tank the hits from the shadow throughout the first half of the fight. Once the Menaphite Shadow starts using magic, focus on it instead, as it has relatively low health.
• Once the shadow is defeated, continue the fight as normal until summoned again. She will occasionally swap places with her shadow; run to attack the Akh quickly, or the shadow will deal large amounts of damage in return; the player will take this damage even after the shadow has been killed if the screen darkening animation has begun so the player must hit the Menaphite Akh, or kill the shadow (not recommended) before it is cast (a chat box message will state "Darkness begins to surround you!" and the screen will begin to turn dark). A weapon with a strong special attack, such as the dragon dagger, will be effective in rapidly dispatching the shadow.
• Thralls cannot be summoned here.
• For players who are taking a lot of damage from the clone during the second phase of the fight when the clone switches to magic attacks, it may be better to switch to Protect from Magic for the second phase. This can make the second phase of the fight significantly easier in some cases.
• The Menaphite Akh's shadows spawn naturally off-ticked. You can mitigate almost all damage from the entire encounter by swapping overhead prayers every 2 ticks. This is necessary if you're trying to do the quest with food such as lobsters or below, gear such as the dragon mace/adamant gloves/climbing boots, and melee stats around level 60.
