The Khazard warlord is fought during the Tree Gnome Villagequest. After he is defeated, players can search his satchel to find the the remaining orbs of protection needed for the spirit tree. The player must then these bring back to King Bolren to complete the quest. Players can fight him in the Nightmare Zone after the quest is complete.
Even though the warlord attacks with a warhammer, he has the attacking speed of a scimitar, meaning that low-level players can take a lot of damage very quickly. Protect from Melee will render him harmless, and he can also be bound with magic. Players choosing to use melee and can't use Prayers are advised to have adamant armour or better when fighting him, as well as good food.
The warlord can be safespotted, allowing players to use ranged weapons or combat spells to kill him. However, attacking him from outside his boundaries will cause him to flee from the player. He can be trapped by luring him north-west, next to the wall, and then attacking, forcing him to flee into the corner where the tree and wall connect.

Trivia
The Khazard warlord has the same examine text and identical stats as General Khazard.
When you defeat the Warlord, you get a message saying that his body evaporated into thin air, and that a screech could be heard. If you return to where you fought him after killing him once, he will re-appear. If you talk to the warlord again, your character will say, "I thought I killed you!?" to which the Warlord will respond "Fool, warriors blessed by Khazard don't die, you can't kill that which is already dead. However, I can kill YOU!" and you may battle him again.
Striking him with magic only yields the base magic experience. No extra experience is awarded for dealing hits.
Striking him with range yields only 1 experience per hit, regardless of damage.
