Forebearer Janus is a high-ranking member of the Twilight Emissaries. During the Heart of Darkness, the player and Prince Itzla Arkan face several trials led by Janus in the Tower of Ascension to infiltrate the group.

During the events of The Final Dawn, Janus purchases a home near the south-western bank of Civitas illa Fortis so the cult can use it as a safe house while planning to reside there to avoid any suspicion. However, an adventurer learns of the plan through an emissary scroll inside their headquarters, apprehending him alongside Captain Vibia. After being paid a visit by Queen Zyanyi Arkan, Janus defiantly states that he is not afraid of death and would refuse to help her, but the Queen manages to both torture and extract the necessary information from him. When the adventurer and her entourage return, they find that he had died from the interrogation.

• He is presumably named after Janus, the two-faced Roman god of doorways, transitions, and beginnings, given his role in introducing new members to the Twilight Emissaries.
