Dire Wolves are one of the stronger species of wolf found in Isafdar, near the limestone mine and Lletya. Four can also be found on Mynydd, with one of them being albino. Some dire wolves can also be found outside the Wolf Den in Varlamore.

As with all wolves, their bones may be used with a chisel to create wolfbone arrowtips for use in Big Chompy Bird Hunting.

During the Meat and Greet quest, the player encounters a Dire Wolf Alpha. During the fight, the alpha can call for reinforcements, spawning a level 72 Dire wolf that attacks exclusively with Ranged. The ranged attacks are extremely accurate but only have a max hit of 3.

Trivia

  • The examine text of the regular dire wolf is a reference to the fairytale Little Red Riding Hood.
    • Similarly the examine text of the albino wolf appears to be a reference to another fairytale Snow White.
