A cursed amulet of magic is an amulet uniquely dropped by necromancers in Great Kourend. It provides by far the lowest magic damage bonus for any item, at -80%.

The amulet's extreme penalty to magic damage has useful applications. It notably drops the maximum hit of Wind Strike above level 13 Magic from 8 to 2 and the maximum hit of Snare from 3 to 1; this allows Wind Strike or Snare to be used alongside the serpentine helm to apply venom to most NPCs, while still allowing them to regenerate to maximum Hitpoints. This technique is used to envenom while still giving kill credit to restricted accounts such as Ironmen and certain pures.

Against Olm, it can be used to keep his head turning while needing to delay dealing damage.
