The two open chests located opposite of each other at Ver Sinhaza are used to reclaim your lost items after dying in the Theatre of Blood. Retrieving your items from any of the chests requires you to pay a fee of 100,000 coins either from your Death's Coffer, inventory, or bank.
The chests store any of your items lost on death until you take them out or die again anywhere in the game. After dying an unsafe death without taking your items out of the chest, they will be lost. Because of this, it is recommended that you reclaim your items immediately to avoid an accidental death and the loss of your items.
