A Troll Stronghold Portal can be built in the portal chamber of a player-owned house. It will teleport players to the Troll Stronghold, where stony basalt takes the player to.

Players must first build a portal frame, then use the centrepiece to direct the portal, requiring completion of Making Friends with My Arm. The cost to direct the portal is 100 basalt, 100 te salt, and 300 urt salt.

With level 73 Agility and the completion of the Hard Fremennik Diary, the teleport destination is changed to be on the Stronghold roof, past the climbing rocks shortcut. This alternate destination works like all Agility shortcuts, you may boost to pass the check and you will fail the check if your Agility is drained. Interestingly, this behaviour is different to stony basalt, where you will still be taken to the roof even when drained.

Portals use 100 times the runes of the base spell, whereas individual additions to the portal nexus use 1,000 times the amount.
